We have come back to 1Peter to continue discussion on living a holy life as described by Peter. Peter continues in description of that life in following in foot steps of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Peter 2:11-12 "Dear Friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your souls. 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."

Peter continues the Lord's word of living good loving lives, in the hope that by good deeds, work, and lives that we may brings the unbelievers to the light and that they may accept him on the day of Judgment for we are all his children.

Peter speaks of Jesus' persecutions and actions, 23 When they hurled insults at him, he did not retaliate, when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly."

Jesus gave credit more than anyone to the term "Turn the other cheek" he did not retaliate or make threats of his or his fathers power he left it up to the Father's Judgement for he is just. Even to the moment of death as He asked for "ALL" sin to be forgiven, "Forgive them Father, for they know not." Luke 24:34

This example is one we must live up too and in this foreign land of today where the faithful are attacked and persecuted for their beliefs we must continue to follow his lead by "Turning the other cheek", "Killing them with kindness" metaphorically speaking of course but we must endure and live such good lives to give HOPE to the lost souls of this world. So that on the day of Our Lord return, they will accept him in their hearts.
